JOB DESCRIPTION
Entry level compliance position. Addresses routine state and federal legislative and regulatory issues that affect products, practices and administration. Establishes and maintains database and instructional materials utilized by various areas. Provides a wide variety of technical/consultation support in the creation of case specific language, including regulatory approval as needed. Has a coordinative role through data compilation, process communication and document maintenance. Establishes issues requiring in-depth analysis to manager for troubleshooting and problem-solving. College degree. Typically has up to 2 years of compliance/regulatory experience or other relevant work experience..Product Filings: File new and revised products with various insurance departments.
1. Research, interpret and summarize laws, bulletins, regulations, forms, filing requirements and other documents relating to company products.
2. Draft policy language to comply with state laws and regulations.
3. File amendatory endorsements to bring existing products into compliance.
4. Revise and resubmit filings to insurance departments as required.
5. Communicate effectively with insurance department personnel regarding filings.
6. Track filing projects and update reports.
7. Review product advertising for compliance with NAIC and state Advertising Guidelines / file if required..


QUALIFICATIONS
- Insurance Compliance (filing experience) is required.
- Two years college or equivalent experience filing life & health insurance products.
- Must have up to date knowledge of filings procedures and requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with insurance department personnel by telephone, letters and email.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal staff/departments regarding filings.
- Knowledge of MicroSoft Office, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Work requires continual attention to detail in reading state regulations/laws, drafting policy language, typing, proofing policy forms, establishing priorities and meeting filing deadlines..
