Description:

The Database Architect will create and maintain data architectures to increase the robustness, performance and scalability of all internal and distributed systems. The person will establish an architectural roadmap for these systems and then deliver on that. The Database Architect is expected to be a hands-on person who improves systems and works well with existing software development teams.



The qualified candidate must possess good communication and organizational skills in addition to the following:



* BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering

* 10+ years of experience in development of software products, including four years of extensive database architect experience with Microsoft SQL Server on Windows platforms

* A strong background in database design and normalization methodologies

* Expertise with relational database concepts including stored procedures, triggers and performance / scalability analysis; proven track record in building and implementing highly scalable / performing 24x7 database applications

* Able to create and maintain data architectures that increase the robustness, performance and scalability of distributed as well as internal systems

* Expertise with design and development for mission critical client/server and multi-tier applications

* Experience with OLAP and Data Warehousing

* Acts as the database liaison with third party vendors

* Must be a team player, and have excellent communication skills; facilitates knowledge transfer to other personnel and management

* Attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work

* Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex tasks and propose viable solutions for both strategic and tactical development initiatives

* Uses outstanding judgment to resolve sensitive roadblocks to developing / deploying business solutions

* Interacts with customers on distributed database-related issues

* Dependable mentoring and coaching qualities

* MCSD certification is beneficial
